The Numéro de TVA (VAT number, Numéro d'identification à la taxe sur la valeur ajoutée) is a unique identification number for legal entities in France. The number is based on the SIREN number (9 digits) and includes a two-letter country code (FR) prefix followed by a two-digit checksum.
This identifier follows a strict format, here represented as X = alphanumeric character, A = letter, 0 = digit, and # = alphanumeric or special character (*, +, ?).
