The European Union's VAT Information Exchange System, which allows the verification of VAT numbers of companies registered in the EU. We use this source to extract basic information about the company, such as the name and address. Not all EU VAT numbers are available in the VIES database, but only those that are registered for cross-border transactions. This means that some VAT numbers may not be verified by VIES, even if they are valid.
