The ΑΦΜ (Αριθμός Φορολογικού Μητρώου, VAT number) is a unique identification number for legal entities in Greece. The number consists of 9 digits prefixed by the country code EL, with the last digit being a check digit.
This identifier follows a strict format, here represented as X = alphanumeric character, A = letter, 0 = digit, and # = alphanumeric or special character (*, +, ?).
