Dutch VAT number / Omzetbelasting-Identificatienummer
The BTW-identificatienummer (Dutch VAT number) is a unique identification number for legal entities in the Netherlands. The number consists of 12 or 10 characters, the first two being "NL", the next 9 (or 7) being digits, the 10th being "B", and the last two being digits. The last two digits act as a check digit.
This identifier follows a strict format, here represented as X = alphanumeric character, A = letter, 0 = digit, and # = alphanumeric or special character (*, +, ?).
